The Old School RuneScape development team has added a new quest called The Path of Glouphrie, which is the sequel to The Eyes of Glouphrie questline. Today we are going to talk about this new quest, as well as some of the recent improvements that the development team has made to it.

In the Eyes of Glouphrie, it is revealed that there’s something sinister being plotted against the Gnome Stronghold. Now you’ll see that King Bolren has acquired a new pet, and Glouphrie’s next target is the Gnome Tree Village!

Requirements & Rewards

You’ll need to have completed the quest, “The Eyes of Glouphrie”, as well as the Waterfall Quest, and Tree Gnome Village. Aside from that, you’ll need 60 Strength, 56 Slayer, 56 Thieving, 47 Ranged, and 45 Agility.

Upon completion, you’ll be awarded 2 Quest Points, access to the Poison Waste Dungeon, 2x Lamps (offering 20,000 XP and 5,000 XP in Slayer and Thieving, respectively), and 2x Lamps (offering 30,000 XP and 5,000 XP in Strength and Magic, respectively).

Poison Waste Dungeon

As mentioned in the rewards section, once you complete the quest you’ll gain access to the all-new Poison Waste Dungeon (Slayer Dungeon).

In this dungeon, you’ll come across deadly Terrorbirds and Warped Tortoises. They aren’t like how you remember them from other areas as the development team has rebalanced their stats, as well as other changes. For instance,

- You no longer need to use a Crystal Chime on Terrorbirds and Warped Tortoises. You only need to have one in your inventory.

- Crystal Chime can no longer be made from Crystal Saw. Meaning, another item is used to make one so you can’t swap between them anymore.

- Rather than individual Slayer tasks, the dungeon shares a single ‘Warped Creatures’ task. The task is an opt-in which needs to be unlocked. The team had also polled (September) on whether to add an additional block slot at 300 QP.

Warped Scepter

A unique drop has also been added to the Poison Waste Dungeon called the Warped Scepter. It’s a mid-level item dropped by the creatures residing within. The item is dropped even when you’re not on a Slayer Task.

In terms of raw DPS stats, the Iban’s Staff outperforms the Warped Scepter until you hit 81 Magic. After that, the output will become higher. The staff is a great mid-level item to unlock for lower-level Mages.

You can also use any spell from the book that you want as the Scepter is a self-powered staff. Other than that, it’s high in attack speed, so wielding the staff along with an Occult Necklace, Imbued God Cape, Elidinis’ Ward, and other items improves its efficiency.

Slayer Block Slot

The release of the quest also meant that you’ll have 300 QP to get your hands on. Also, every 50 QPs unlocks a Slayer Block Slot, so the OSRS team had polled at the end of September to add an additional one to the game after hitting 300 QP.

Mobile TLI Beta

From September 14th, the OSRS team also unlocked access to the exclusive Beta worlds for better compatibility with the new mobile UIs. Basically, you could convert a save of the real game to use on the Beta worlds. Without a converted save, you would’ve simply been thrown back to the Tutorial Island to start afresh.

Aside from that, to access the content, you had access to the following Beta worlds: World 585, 586, 587, 588, and 589. You could always swing back to the normal version after you were done with the testing.

Other Minor Changes

The wording on the GIM leaving interface has been fixed. GIM leaders who want to abdicate no longer need an active member in their group for it. On the Deadman Apocalypse worlds, the Grand Exchange sales fee is no longer charged.

You can now check the charges for Blade of Saeldor while equipping it. Bind, Snare and Entangle spells now grant different experiences depending on the cast style. For instance, Bind gives 31 XP, Snare gives 61 XP, and Entangle around 89 XP.

The task on the Wilderness Achievement Diary where you had to kill a Lava Dragon and bury its bones to complete it; now changed to only killing the Dragon. Also, the Locator Orb is now permitted in the Castle Wars minigame.

The PVP World Rota has been moved to Period A. Therefore, here are the worlds: 539 (PVP World), 318 (Bounty Hunter World), 548 (High-Risk PVP World), 577 (F2P PVP World), 559 (LMS Competitive), 390 (LMS Competitive), and 569 (Bounty Hunter).
