Whether you choose to fight solo or in groups, this boss battle is manageable, and with the right preparation, you can defeat her and claim valuable loot.

Who is Hueycoatl?

Hueycoatl is a legendary dragon that once slumbered on piles of gold, but she has been awakened and is now wreaking havoc on the dwarves of Cam Torum. Your task is to assist the dwarves by defeating this fearsome creature. Despite her intimidating appearance, Hueycoatl's mechanics are simple, and with the right strategy, you can take her down effectively.

Location of Hueycoatl

Hueycoatl resides in a mountain known as The Darkfrost. Accessing this area can be done through different methods, but the easiest way is by acquiring a Pendant of Ates, charged with frozen tears. This pendant allows you to teleport to various locations in Varlamore, including the Darkfrost, after activating the Statue of Ates at the location.

Alternatively, you can teleport to Civitas illa Fortis and take the Quetzal to Quetzacalli Gorge, then run north through the gate to reach the base camp near the Darkfrost. Another option is to teleport to Salvager Overlook via the Quetzal, but you’ll need to build the transportation hub here, making this a slower route.

To maximize your chances of success, here’s a recommended inventory setup:

1 Divine Super Combat Potion

1 Prayer Regeneration Potion (optional)

2-3 Prayer Potions

Blood Moon Armor Switch: Ideal for dealing with the boss's tails due to the set's ability to speed up kills.

Sharks and Karambwans for healing, with the latter providing combo healing.

Book of the Dead and Thrall Runes for summoning Thralls.

Rune Pouch: Fill it with Blood, Fire, Cosmic, and Death runes for casting offensive spells and using Death Charge to restore your special attack energy.

Hueycoatl Boss Mechanics

Despite being a mid-level boss, Hueycoatl has several simple mechanics that players need to be aware of.

Runic Symbols: Hueycoatl periodically spawns blue runic symbols on the ground. After a few seconds, these symbols explode, dealing damage to any players standing on them. Simply move to a tile without a symbol to avoid taking damage.

Shockwave Attack: Once Hueycoatl’s health drops to 50%, she begins using a shockwave attack with her tail. The shockwaves occur every time the tail changes position. Even after you destroy the tails, the shockwaves will continue. To avoid them, you can use a tile-skipping method, which requires precise timing. Alternatively, running diagonally at the shockwave can sometimes allow you to dodge the attack.
